Andhra Pradesh Nativity Certificate – Key Details

The AP nativity/residence certificate is the most critical document for local area seat reservation. Here is what you need to know:

Eligibility to claim: Candidates who have studied from Class 6 to Class 10 (minimum 4 years) in Andhra Pradesh districts of the respective university zone.
How to get it: Apply at your local Tahsildar / MRO (Mandal Revenue Officer) office. Carry Class 6–10 study certificates/TC from AP schools as supporting documents.
Format: Must be issued on official letterhead with government seal. Online certificates from MeeSeva portal are also accepted.
Validity: No specific validity period mentioned, but a fresh certificate (within the last year) is preferred for counselling.
Study outside AP: Candidates who studied outside AP but have parents who are domicile residents of AP with government employment in AP may also be eligible. Check specific guidelines.

Frequently Asked Questions – AP EAMCET 2026 Documents

Common questions about documents required for AP EAMCET 2026 counselling

1
Is Andhra Pradesh nativity certificate mandatory for AP EAMCET 2026 counselling?
Yes, the AP nativity/residence certificate is mandatory for claiming local area (70% quota) seats. Candidates who have studied for 4 years in AP (Class 6–10) can claim local candidature with a nativity certificate issued by a Tahsildar/Revenue Officer of the respective district. Without this certificate, candidates are treated as non-local and compete only for the 30% non-local seats.
2
What income certificate is required for AP EAMCET fee reimbursement?
For AP fee reimbursement scheme (Jagananna Vidya Deevena), candidates need an income certificate issued by a competent authority (MRO/Tahsildar) showing annual family income below ₹2.5 lakh. This must be in the parent's name (not the student) and should be current (not older than one year). SC/ST candidates with annual income below ₹2.5 lakh are automatically eligible. Submit this at college level after admission.
3
Can I use Aadhaar card as address/identity proof for AP EAMCET 2026 counselling?
Yes, Aadhaar card is accepted as both identity and address proof for AP EAMCET 2026 counselling. However, it is not a substitute for the nativity certificate for local area claim. You still need the nativity certificate for claiming the local candidature. Aadhaar is used for identity verification during certificate verification and college reporting.
4
What documents are needed at the AP EAMCET Help Line Centre (HLC) for verification?
At the AP EAMCET HLC, you need to carry: Original AP EAPCET 2026 hall ticket, Original Class 10 (SSC) marks memo and pass certificate, Original Class 12 (Intermediate) marks memo, Aadhaar card (original + photocopy), Nativity/residence certificate (if claiming local seats), Category/caste certificate (for SC/ST/BC candidates), Income certificate (for fee reimbursement eligibility), and 4–6 recent passport-size photographs.
5
Is a gap certificate/affidavit required for AP EAMCET 2026 counselling?
A gap affidavit is required if there is a gap year between Class 12 (Intermediate) and the current application for AP EAMCET 2026. It should be prepared on ₹100 non-judicial stamp paper, signed before a Notary/First Class Magistrate, explaining the reason for the gap. This is required at the time of college reporting, not necessarily at certificate verification.
