IIT Bombay Seat Matrix Overview 2026

IIT Bombay offers approximately 1,100 B.Tech seats across all programmes in the 2026 academic year. These seats are distributed across engineering, science, and design programmes, and are allocated through JoSAA counselling using JEE Advanced ranks.

The seat matrix follows India's national reservation policy: 27% for OBC-NCL, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, and 10% for EWS. The remaining seats fall under the General/Unreserved category. Additionally, 5% PwD seats are available as horizontal reservations within each category.

IIT Bombay also follows the supernumerary seats policy for female candidates introduced by the IIT Council. This adds approximately 20% extra seats (over and above the regular matrix) to ensure at least 20% female enrollment in each programme.

The seat matrix below shows approximate figures based on JoSAA 2025 data. The exact numbers for 2026 will be published in the official JoSAA 2026 seat matrix.
